In June 2025, Julia participated in the National Music Festival in Maryland, engaging in two intensive weeks of musical collaboration and performance. She was one of only five clarinetists selected from around the world—and the sole female member of the clarinet section. Additionally, Julia distinguished herself as one of the youngest apprentices at the festival, entering only her third year of undergraduate study, while many of her peers were graduate students or recent college graduates.
Julia's first Reed Quintet experience! These musicians performed Splinter by Marc Mellits, a multi-movement work with each movement named after different types of trees.
